Festival Pucciniano
Torre del Lago, home of the Puccini Festival, lies between the Lake of Massaciuccoli and the Tyrrhenian Sea, 4 kilometres far from the magnificent beaches of Viareggio on the Tuscan Riviera, 18 kilometres from Lucca and Pisa. The Festival welcomes about 40.000 spectators every year to its open-air theatre, just a few steps from the Villa Mausoleum where Giacomo Puccini lived and worked.

Chagall e il Mediterraneo
At Palazzo Blu the exhibition will be showing 150 works of art including paintings, sculptures, ceramics and lithographies – created by the Russian artist from 1926 on, when he first came in contact with the light, colors and landscape of the Mediterranean sea and the countries facing it – France, Greece and the Holy Land.
This exhibition is the first part of a triennial cycle dedicated to the big masters of the twentieth century art and to their relationship with the Mediterranean traditions, light and cultures. This show will be featuring Joan Miró in 2010.
LuccaComics
Lucca is known throughout the world as a city of Art, History and Culture. Since 1966, however, Lucca has also been the undisputed City of Comics, and year after year has hosted an event dedicated to strip cartoons that is acknowledged to be the most important and exciting of its kind in Italy.
